This 10-day intensive skills programme addresses recent modifications and newly published rules to the Employment Equity Act, providing direction on updating your employment equity plan and completing your report for 2025/26 in accordance with the new law. The training programme is linked to unit standard 116927 and is designed to provide practical guidance on completing the Employment Equity Act forms, as well as to provide Employment Equity committee members with the knowledge and skills they need to meet all of the EE Act’s legislative requirements and begin the process of creating a culture that values diversity.

Topics Covered Include:

  • Introduction to the Employment Equity Act
  • Terminology and principles – Employment Equity, Affirmative Action and BBBEE
  • An overview of the Employment Equity process
  • Employment Equity Forums/Committees
  • Employment Equity plans, forms and reports
  • Codes of good practice

Key Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the Employment Equity Skills Programme, participants will understand:

  • The application and purpose of the Act
  • Monitoring and enforcement provisions of the Act
  • Preparation, Implementation Monitoring and enforcement provisions of the Act
  • Setting up Employment Equity Committees
  • The challenges faced by Employment Equity Committees
  • Code of Good Practice on the Preparation, Implementation and Monitoring of EE Plans
  • Code of Good Practice on the Integration of EE into HR Policies and Practices
  • Code of Good Practice on the Handling of Sexual Harassment Cases
  • Code of Good Practice on Disability in the Workplace
