Learnership Overview
The Leadership Development Programme is designed to equip first-line managers, supervisors, and community leaders with core management and leadership competencies in a 12-month programme consisting of a series of workshops. Participants will be guided in compiling Portfolios of Evidence (PoEs) based on their workplace experience. These PoEs will be assessed and moderated, and upon being deemed competent, participants will be awarded a National Qualification.
Learnership Scope
The goal is to teach participants how to apply, integrate, and demonstrate sound, systematic knowledge and skills in areas such as leadership, strategy, leadership communication, diversity, teamwork, planting and growing a new culture, leading change and transformation, and followership. Participants will learn how to effectively evaluate, choose, and apply tactics and skills for influence, persuasion, accurate communication, debate, argument building, and information gathering.

Key Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the Leadership Development Programme, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of leadership skills in a specific sector or context
- Apply innovative and creative strategies and visionary thinking skills in developing and implementing strategic planning
- Understand the difference between operational management and visionary leadership
- Apply emotional intelligence in a leadership context.
- Apply leadership to relationship management.
- Apply visionary thinking skills in leadership problem-solving contexts
- Motivate self and others.
- Manage conflict
- Deal with issues and provide strategic leadership at various levels, including community.
- Communicate with conviction, confidence and integrity at all levels and constituencies.
