DISABILITY INCLUSION

Disability Inclusion

Disability inclusion is about creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, understood, accepted, and valued. A place where people can be themselves because they are celebrated for their differences. Disability inclusion at Skills Junction runs concurrently with our Learnership offering and includes measures to promote vocational training opportunities and eliminate barriers in the classroom and workplace for people living with disabilities from a physical, attitudinal, and organizational standpoint, which has been shown to promote retention!

Skills Junction offers Learnership for People with Disabilities as part of a complete turnkey skills development solution (PWDs). We offer a fully hosted 12-month structured work-based learnership programme that is ideal for clients who want to sponsor PWD learnerships but are unable to accommodate these learners in their own workplace. Learnership for people with disabilities combines classroom and experiential learning to prepare your PWD learners for workplace success.

Reasonable Accomodation - Policy Statement

Skills Junction recognizes that each person has unique circumstances, and that making reasonable accommodations fosters an inclusive environment that allows all of our learners and employees to reach their full potential, enabling high levels of trust, wellbeing, and building strong communities.

We, at Skills Junction are committed to providing equal access to education and employment opportunities for people living with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified employees with disabilities to enable performance of the essential functions of the positions for which they are applying and in which they are employed.

Reasonable accommodation allows both learners and employees to get the classroom and workplace adjustments they need to meet academic requirements while also performing their jobs in a way that is appropriate for them.

At Skills Junction, the policy on reasonable accommodations is applicable to all employees, including those who do not have a disability but could still benefit from one. As a business, we acknowledge that it is good management practice to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace to meet the unique needs of each of our employees. This helps our company attract and retain talented employees.
